The Slopes

Outdoor skiing right here in West Yorkshire. We are 1100ft above sea level in the South Pennines. Our slopes are from 300ft long to around 500ft long, not particularly steep but totally varied with jumps, bumps, berms, trees and all sorts of obstacles that all add to the interest and excitement.

The evening slope

Illuminated at night with floodlights and served by its own tow, this is one of the most popular slopes day or evening. The main slope has bumps and jumps and is a touch steeper than the others whilst the area to the left adds extra terrain and is a bit more gentle.

Please note the total beginner areas i.e people who have not skied before, are not floodlit.
The cabin is at the bottom so grub, hot drinks and when we party – music, are not far away.

The beginner slope

The only reason we call this the beginner slope is because it is wide and long and perfect to progress on. There are wide open spaces, mini jumps to learn on, beginner moguls and even what we affectionately call the baby cross track, the little sister to our big burther track.

This run is perfect to learn on, progress on or just chill out on. The slope is our longest, about 500ft long and served with its own rope pull ski tow which has the easiest take off so helping beginners get used to the tows.

The freestyle area

We can’t wait to use this slope. New for the 13-14 season (hence no freestyle ski or snowboard photos).

We have the three sisters, a series of jumps with a drop in followed by a 3ft, 5ft and 8ft jumps and landing ramps.

And then there is ‘Big Burther’ herself, the newly extended border cross track.

Both were home to 2014 & 2015 second round of the UK Mountainboard Championships.

Through the trees

Gliding through virgin snow past tall snow covered trees on your way back to the cabin for a glass of Glühwein and a bacon butty, where else could you be?

We only wish this run was a bit longer, at 300 ft and served with its own rope pull tow the area is fantastic. Peaceful and picturesque you could be anywhere in the world. Luckily for you though, you are right here in Yorkshire.

The whole area

Another World is an area, creating one mini resort, one play ground, one incredible atmosphere.

Most of the runs interlink and because we cover the entire width of the hill there are no boundaries. Everyone is welcome, ‘never had a go before’ to ‘I was flat out on the Hahnenkamm last week’ but please remember, we are not an alpine resort we are a hill in West Yorkshire where we experience some pretty cold and sometimes harsh weather.
